Syree and Gavin’s South Fork wedding was, for sure, one for the books! I got to take their engagement photos at this exact same spot in April! It was super fun to see how all of the scenery at the Rio Grande Club and Resort changed from Spring to Summer.
I started off the day with the groomsmen! It’s always enjoyable experiencing the different relationships between the groom and his guys. I also just love how you can see the appreciation on Gavin’s face for his mom. So sweet.
I then headed over to the girl’s suite. As they finished up getting ready, I was able to get some of these detail shots. How cute are the shoes??
I was so happy that Syree decided to do a first look with both her grandpa and step dad. It was evident that these two men have made a huge impact on her life, so it was a super special moment to capture. Grandpa Rick was up first!
And then it was Jed’s turn.
It was at this time, she presented them both with tie clips that read, “I loved you first”
This venue did not need any help becoming more beautiful, but Syree and Gavin’s decor added the perfect touch! Their decorations were simple and elegant and I couldn’t have loved them more.
The ceremony at this South Fork wedding was so sweet. Syree’s mom commented afterward that there were points where she heard sniffle after sniffle- people crying happy tears.
It was clear everyone there deeply cared for Syree and Gavin and was excited to celebrate them as they entered this new stage of life.
Another unique aspect of the Rio Grande Club and Resort is that it’s right on the Rio Grande River. A perfect backdrop for the first kiss!
After the ceremony, Gavin and Syree hopped on a golf cart to go take some pictures. On their way, rafters, fishermen, and of course, golfers were all cheering on and congratulating the newlyweds! How fun is that?!
This is one of Gavin and Syree’s favorite spots at the venue, so we had to make sure to get some wedding day photos at the bridge!
Their colors were sage green, dusty blue, and slate blue. Can we talk about how their local florist, Almost Home, absolutely nailed it with these beautiful bouquets?!
Syree and Gavin have basically known each other their whole life! But they had been dating for about 3 years before they said, “I do!”
Fun fact: They share a love for the outdoors and are both excellent hunters!
The reception set-up at Rio Grande Club and Resort was gorgeous and super classy!
After dinner and some meaningful speeches from several friends and family, it was time for the first dances. This was definitely one of my favorite parts of the day!
In addition to the traditional father-daughter dance and mother-son dance, Syree and Gavin included their new in-laws! I loved this special way to incorporate the mother of the bride and the father of the groom as they don’t always get a specific role on the wedding day.
Dancing was followed by the cake-cutting which was another highlight, for sure. It turned out that there wasn’t a plate or fork for Syree and Gavin after they cut the cake. So, instead, they just ate it right off the spatula! Now that is a way to problem-solve!
I then stole Syree and Gavin again for a few more minutes to capture some of my favorite glowy sunset portraits.
I have to give one last, huge shout-out to the venue, Rio Grande Club and Resort! This day would not have been possible without their beautiful property!
I am so thankful that I was able to capture this special day! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Burk!
