If you know Lydia and Brandon, then you know that a fun and energetic Durango mountain wedding suites them well. They got married at a beautiful private venue up by Lemon Reservoir called Three Trails Ranch.
This was such a fun afternoon getting to be in the bridal suite. Lydia is a BIG tea gal, so of course, all of the ladies had a little tea party of their own while they were getting ready.
Pro tip from Lydia’s wedding: color-coordinated robes before you put the fancy dresses on, including the mother-of the bride! They make for the cutest pictures!
We have had the privilege of knowing Lydia and Brandon for almost four years now! It’s been so fun to watch them go from dating to engaged to now married! Over this time, we have also been blessed to get to know Jerri and Jeff, Lydia’s parents.
Jerri and Jeff are some of the most servant-hearted people and make everything super fun! I was thankful to be able to capture and witness this special moment between Lydia and her mom. Jerri took this opportunity to take in all of Lydia’s beauty and to share some special encouragement before she entered into this next stage of life.
If you haven’t already picked up on it, Lydia has an unbelievably sweet relationship with her mom. But we can’t forget about her dad!
If you’ve ever met Jeff, guaranteed he has cracked a joke or two with you. I love this next series of photos because I think it displays both sides of Lydia’s relationship with her dad. They always keep things fun, but it’s hard to not get a little choked up when you see your baby girl as a bride.
Even the bridesmaids couldn’t help but get a little emotional watching Lydia interact with her parents.
One of the coolest things about this Durango mountain wedding was how God-glorifying it was. Both sides of the bridal party wanted to cover the bride and groom in prayer before sending them down the aisle.
Brandon and Lydia also shared a special moment of prayer before the ceremony.
When we first arrived at the venue, the weather was definitely looking a little eerie. It was basically supposed to downpour at the exact time of the ceremony. By God’s grace, the rain stopped just in time!
Brandon and Lydia’s ceremony was also a huge testimony for the Lord. They even invited all of their guests to join them in singing a couple of worship songs. It was a great reminder of where all the glory should be given.
After their vows, Brandon’s dad led all of the guests in a prayer for the newlyweds.
And then… how about that first kiss and dip shot walking down the aisle?!
Okay, now let’s just take a minute to admire how cool and fun this bridal party was!
A few fun facts about the Raborgs:
1. Lydia is a runner. And no, I don’t just mean she goes for a jog every now and then. Every year on her birthday, she runs the amount of miles she turns. She has also done multiple marathons and even ran the Grand Canyon from rim to rim to rim (over 50 miles!)
2. Brandon is a fitness guru. I don’t have the actual stats on him, but I’m pretty sure if you needed help lifting something heavy, Brandon would be able to help.
3. Brandon was interested in Lydia and asked her out a few times before she finally said yes.
4. They are both really great at dancing which, of course, made taking these pictures so fun!
5. Brandon LOVES Zia Taqueria. I’m pretty sure he ate it close to every day at one point. So it made total sense that tacos were on the menu for their big day!
Look how happy it made him!
Next up, it was time for dancing!
Lydia and Jeff surprised everyone as they broke out into a choreographed dance! Very fitting for them and a huge hit for their guests!
Remember when I said the fun and energetic wedding was perfect for Brandon and Lydia? This is what I meant.
I also have to acknowledge their creative send-off! I had never seen this one before and it made for some sweet photos! They left the night surrounded by balloons filled with lights!
I’m so thankful I got to photograph this Durango mountain wedding and even more so, that I got to spend the day with the Raborgs! I am very excited for them as they enter this new stage of life!
