From the very beginning of this Durango engagement photo session, I could tell Danielle and Boston were going to be a fun couple to work with. They were laughing and joking with each other right away. Their energy definitely made this engagement shoot fly by!
Before we started taking pictures, Danielle said, “We’re not very natural at this.” So you can imagine my surprise when they struck a pose right out of the gate, immediately nailing it. As you can tell they are, in fact, pretty natural at this.
Danielle and Boston are both certified therapists. They met while attending the University of Utah. They both play the guitar and share a mutual love of aspen trees, so we HAD to include both of those in our pictures.
When you live in a town like Durango, it’s a pretty quick trip to the mountains. So that’s just what we did to get those aspen trees! Along the trail, Danielle found some wildflowers and picked them- a perfect addition to their photos!
It’s hard to have a Durango engagement session without stopping by downtown for some cool shots. This spot is even more special for Danielle and Boston as they are getting married right in the heart of downtown Durango!
At the beginning of August, Boston and Danielle are having a backyard ceremony. Whose backyard you might ask? Well, it’s the house that Boston’s dad grew up in! Isn’t that so perfect and one of the sweetest things you’ve ever heard?!
These downtown Durango engagement photos were super fun to take. We walked into an alley that didn’t look like the most promising spot to take pictures, but the light was actually PERFECT. We also couldn’t help but stop in front of the historic Strater Hotel to snag a few shots there as well.
Shooting this Durango engagement session made me so pumped for this sweet couple’s big day! It’s an honor that I get to capture their love through photos two times! And next time will be when they’re saying “I do!”
