I always love where I live and what I do, but I especially love it at this time of year! When I get to venture up into the mountains as the days turn cooler and photograph two people in love… well, my heart swells! Kadyn and Dylan provided me this opportunity on a rainy August day at this Purgatory Resort engagement shoot!
This session especially excited me, because it was the week of their wedding!! I love getting to meet my couples before their big day, even if it’s just a few days before! 🙂 This is a big reason why I gift a free engagement session with my wedding packages! It makes the day-of feel much more comfortable and run smoother altogether.
Dylan is from a town close to Durango, but Kadyn reigns from Florida. Kadyn eventually ended up moving to Pagosa Springs for a bit. These two met when some friends invited both of them to play volleyball! The rest was history!
While the day of their engagement shoot started off stormy and eerie-looking, there was actually no rain during the session and even some sun here and there! I was so happy we decided not to cancel due to the weather forecast!
Although, Kadyn and Dylan wouldn’t have been bothered too much by the rain! The possibility of rain actually excited them as it would have emulated the day they got engaged. These two are just fun like that!
I was super stoked to see all the wildflowers during this Purgatory Resort engagement shoot! It’s always a dream of mine to take photos in a field like this!
One of Kadyn’s bothers joined the photoshoot and wondered around the mountain while we took photos. At the end of our session, he had gathered a bouquet of wildflowers for his sister! Isn’t that the sweetest?
Needless to say, this engagement shoot was a DREAM. The wildflowers, the weather, and this couple completely in love couldn’t make it anything less than that! Congratulations, you two!
