When I received a wedding inquiry from Madison, I could tell right away that we were going to get along! Like me, Madison told me she also loves puzzles, board games, and the Office! Needless to say, I was so excited to meet Madison and Lane and learn more about them at this La Plata Canyon Engagement Session!
I learned that both Madison and Lane grew up in the area. Lane is from Bloomfield, New Mexico while Madison is from Aztec, New Mexico.
These two knew of each other throughout high school, but as Lane put it, “She wanted nothing to do with me.” This little tidbit made me laugh as it reminded me of mine and my husband’s story. I think I have also heard Will share that sentiment once or twice before about me. 😉
Ultimately, they have Madison’s brother to thank for them ending up together. Lane was friends with Madison’s brother who nudged them both in the right direction.
I also loved hearing about their engagement story. In December, Lane coordinated both of their families to go on a big ski trip to Purgatory Resort. It was there that he proposed on the mountain!
Okay, okay, so let’s get to actually talking about this magical La Plata Canyon Engagement shoot!
I had scoped out a spot for these photos a couple of days before, but didn’t realize that the road to get where we needed was closed.
I’m thankful Madison and Lane were so flexible when I had to call an audible! We headed up to La Plata Canyon.
It was way colder than we were expecting, but with the falling snow, it created a whole different (and might I say better??) vibe for the shoot!
Oh, and I CANNOT forget to mention their brand new puppy, Dally! The cutest ever.
I absolutely could not be more excited for this couple’s September wedding at LePlatt’s Pond! I’m guessing there might be a bit less snow, but still the same amount of magic!
