What a joy it was to be a part of Emily and Bray’s Irma J Ranch wedding! As they entered into the marriage covenant, they were surrounded by love, family, and the beautiful Durango mountains.
One of the first things I noticed about Emily’s wedding day attire was the sparkles! I myself, am a huge fan of all things sparkles so it was super fun to get to photograph her sparkly dress and shoes!
A friend blinged out her comfy reception Hey Dudes, complete with Emily’s new initials on the laces.
I could tell that Emily and her bridesmaids were close, so I was honestly not that surprised when I found out they were all first cousins. How fun to keep it all in the family!
Irma J Ranch is a super unique venue about 30 minutes from downtown Durango. It boasts a BEAUTIFUL outdoor ceremony space, while the reception hall is covered but open. Perfect for any type of weather!
Speaking of which, the weather on this late August afternoon could not quite make up its mind. I couldn’t complain about the clouds rolling in right as the ceremony started though. It made for the perfect, magical lighting!
Just look at that backdrop for their ceremony!
If you’re wondering if the groomsmen were also all family, the answer is yes! They were all brothers of either Emily or Bray!
It was so fun getting to know the newlyweds more throughout the day. Emily and Bray live in Casper, Wyoming and both love the outdoors, hiking, and hunting.
They are also both adventurous! In fact, they told me that Bray was surprising Emily with a special trip. They were leaving the night of their wedding! She had no idea where they were going, but was down for the experience!
The rain just barely started sprinkling during my time with Emily and Bray, but that didn’t stop us from walking over to get these epic portraits with the San Juan Mountains!
It was sweet to see all of their personal touches throughout the day that displayed who they are as a couple.
One of those special touches was their cake! It fit their theme perfectly and, even better, was made by Emily’s mom, Peggy!
All of the different spaces at this venue provided perfect spots for some hors d’oeuvres and the first dance!
One of my favorite parts of this Irma J Ranch wedding was the father-daughter dance. It was a fun moment that turned emotional as soon as the chorus of, “I loved you first” started playing. It was a real tug-at-your-heartstrings type of moment.
Then it was everyone’s turn to dance! And dance they did…
I always love a good yard game to keep guests entertained during the reception. And their adorable newphew, Jaxx, just added to the entertainment!
Emily decided to do her bouquet toss from the top of a barn! I don’t know about you, but I had personally never experienced a three-story bouquet toss before!
This sweet day ended with a bubble exit, complete with a full-on bubble gun pointed directly at them from Jaxx.
Thank you so much Mr. and Mrs. Houston for letting me be a part of your beautiful wedding! I can’t wait to see all of the adventures you two embark on together!
Perfect day for a beautiful couple. Blessings to you both.
Lovely!
