As a photographer, every engagement shoot comes with its unique story, and this Purgatory engagement session with Krystal and Kendall did not fall short.
Before our photoshoot even started, Krystal began her day being pampered by local hair and makeup artist- Kawaii!
I thought this was such a brilliant idea, not only because it made her look and feel beautiful for her engagement photos, but it provided a perfect trial run for the big day.
Krystal works as a nurse and Kendall is a tennis instructor. They met through a dating app, their connection quickly evolving into a profound love story.
Krystal and Kendall reign from Texas! Kendall’s love for skiing ultimately brought them to our corner of Southwest Colorado.
If you’re like me, you probably noticed this couple’s cowboy hats right away! The beauty of Krystal’s hat immediately struck me! As we talked more about it, she showed me how it adorned lyrics from their favorite artist, Zach Bryan – a testament to their shared passions.
In addition to her hat, I loved Krystal’s engagement ring from the start. So when I learned that it also held sentimental value as it was passed down from Kendall’s mother, it made me love it even more!
In May, Kendall and Krystal will tie the knot in Pagosa, a place that holds special significance in their hearts.
Their engagement story is basically as romantic as it gets! Last December, Kendall and Krystal took a ski trip to Wolf Creek. He proposed to her underneath the frozen waterfall called Treasure Falls. It’s no wonder Pagosa became the chosen venue for their wedding!
The contrast and backdrop of the images from this Purgatory engagement session make my heart soar! I love the different lighting the comes with a winter photoshoot!
It was fun to get a small glimpse into Krystal and Kendall’s love, joy, and shared adventures. As a photographer, witnessing and documenting such stories is not just a job but a privilege. Next up, their wedding day! Can’t wait to photograph you two again!
