I was so excited to have another opportunity to photograph at the Black Diamond Lodge this season! Storm clouds, cute pups, and joyfully tender moments filled the day at Kate and Grady’s late summer wedding.
The Black Diamond Lodge is such a beautiful venue with some unique photo opportunity spots. One of them being their front patio. I just couldn’t help but bring Kate’s gorgeous dress out to snap some shots in front of these epic doors.
You’ve heard me talk about Mountain Belle Flower Farm before. I am always so impressed with their floral arrangements, but this one, in particular, made me swoon! Look at all of those harmonious fall colors in this bouquet!
While I’m bragging about all of these vendors, I can’t forget about Durango Event Planners. The table-scapes they set up always leave me speechless!
The “getting-ready” space at the Black Diamond Lodge is pretty ideal with so much natural light coming in.
It was a perfect spot for Kate to get in her dress with her mom by her side!
Then we headed up to this magical meadow to get some bridal portraits and I mean, come on! How beautiful is Kate?!
Kate and Grady currently live in Albuquerque. Fun fact, they got married on their 9th anniversary of dating and their 2nd anniversary of being engaged! Safe to say September 10th is a pretty special day for them.
Something that immediately stood out to me about this couple is how chill they both were! They handled any chaos thrown their way with such calmness- a very rare trait for a couple on their wedding day.
Okay, it’s time to talk about the dogs! Meet Martha, Lily, and Hogi! They were the cutest little flower girls and ring bearer you ever did meet.
Plus, they also posed pretty well for some family photos!
As the ceremony began, it was sweet to see all of the close relationships between these two families.
Kate and Grady had a close friend perform their ceremony. I loved that personal touch, to have someone who knew them both so well, officiate for them.
After the ceremony, it was time for cocktail hour! Et Voila Catering provided these scrumptious hors d’oeuvres!
As well as the dinner!
These cupcakes from Whisk It Bakes and Cakes were a HUGE hit. The unique flavors and gorgeous decorations had people raving.
The weather was perfect for this late summer wedding to move the party back outside for speeches and dancing!
I was also excited to get a couple of shots of the newlyweds under the patio lights when the dance party moved back inside.
A super fun bunch attended Kate and Grady’s big day! I learned that they had a lot of rock climbing friends as well as a group of grad school friends.
Seeing the two worlds collide during the dancing was fun! No one held back!
This late summer wedding at the Black Diamond Lodge was a truly unforgettable experience. I will forever be grateful for the role that Kate and Grady allowed me to play for their big day! Congrats, you two!
