After taking engagement photos for Danielle and Boston back in May, I was so pumped for their downtown Durango wedding! It did not disappoint! Their wedding day was intimate as they were surrounded by their friends and family. I feel so honored that I got to play a small part in it!
The day started off with some photos of all of their details. These personalized guitar picks were party favors for their guests. It was a fun touch as both Danielle and Boston play guitar and music is a huge part of their story!
Right off the bat, I fell in love with the flowers from Mountain Belle Flower Farm. The beautiful arrangements added so much to every part of their venue.
Speaking of the venue, it deserves its own special moment. Just a block away from all of the excitement of downtown Durango, Boston and Danielle got married in the backyard of a 140-year-old house.
It was not just any house though, Boston’s dad, Scott, actually grew up in this home! It was amazing getting to walk through the house and find all of the little hidden gems that modern houses just don’t seem to have.
While everyone was getting ready, there was an excited energy in the house that is hard to describe. At one point, Danielle said, “I feel like I’m living in a dream right now!” She showed obvious excitement to walk down the aisle and finally marry the man of her dreams.
This downtown Durango wedding included so many unique touches sprinkled throughout the day. One of those being the flutist playing music as guests entered the ceremony.
Their vows were one of the most notable parts of the day. Danielle and Boston not only wrote their vows beautifully, but they also wrote a lot of the same things in the them. It was a sweet confirmation that they just belong together!
Everyone was so invested in their vows, it was fun to watch their loved ones relive their story along with them.
But my all-time favorite part of the day happened right after these two kissed and became husband and wife. They walked over to play the guitar and sing a song together: Strawberries by Caamp.
You could feel their love for each other as they sang. Danielle originally sent this song to Boston when they first started dating. There were many happy and sentimental tears from the guests during their song. It was such a special and intimate moment.
Afterwards, everyone headed to the front yard so that the folks from Durango Event Planners could set up these BEAUTIFUL tablescapes.
One of Danielle’s main requests for photos was, “capturing people connecting in love.” This group made it pretty easy to do just that.
And then it was time for brunch! Laura’s Artisan had everyone covered with all of the yummy brunch foods you could think of.
Danielle and Boston say that they are not natural in front of the camera. I have begged to differ both during their engagement session as well as at their wedding!
Their son, Harvey, was pretty photogenic too!
I loved how, throughout the day, they created their own poses by just being present in the moment with each other.
I, of course, had to include the family house in some of their photos! This is the second wedding that has happened in the backyard since it’s been in Boston’s family. It holds a lot of happy memories for this crew.
Danielle and Boston shared a romantic first dance together and then invited others to join them for a few more songs.
Then everyone lined up for their exit. Let me tell you, it was an original one! Danielle and Boston ran through a tunnel of bubbles and straight to their horse-drawn carriage awaiting them!
It was fun to watch all of the Durango traffic cheer and congratulate the newlyweds as they took a lap around downtown Durango!
I cannot express enough how much I love my job. It is such an honor and privilege to get to capture life and love in the form of photos! Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Busnell for letting me be a part of your most special day! Congratulations!
Thanks to these local vendors for helping make this wedding day so beautiful:

You truly captured this special day, Cassidy! It was a fairytale wedding, in my opinion, and you highlighted all the magic. I know Boston and Danielle loved working with you and are so happy with all the photos. And EVERYONE appreciates reading a good love story (with the engagement photos) and a beautiful wedding story (here!). Thank you for taking the time to document, in picture and word.
