Chris Park Wedding-Chloe and Weston

June 10, 2023

“I don’t think many couples can say that their wedding day was absolutely perfect, but our wedding day has been absolutely perfect!” These were some of the words from Chloe, the bride, at this special Chris Park wedding in the mountains of Durango.
And it truly was a pretty perfect day.

Chloe and Weston centered so much of the day around being present, enjoying every moment, and just being together. It was amazing! It all began with their first look.

Chris Park Wedding first look

I’m a big fan of first looks for multiple reasons. First of all, the wedding day is about the bride and groom. So it naturally makes sense to get some time with each other before the chaos of the day starts! It can also be super helpful to get the jitters out and take a deep breath. And finally, it just helps the day run a little smoother!

I was able to get some intimate portraits of these two right away! They turned out to be some of my favorites from the entire day!

Chloe and Weston met in college in Grand Junction, Colorado. They shared similar interests in being outdoorsy and adventurous and eventually started dating.

Now, they both work as high school teachers in Grand Junction. Chloe went to school to be a teacher, but it is a new-found love of Weston’s!

It was special to be able to hear how all of the bridal party knew the bride and groom. Everything from childhood friends to college roommates to family members (and future family members!) was represented in this bunch.

Chloe also did a first look with her dad and brothers and I just can’t get over this moment.

This outdoor ceremony, surrounded by the Durango mountains, was sweet and genuine.

Chloe’s brother, Jacob, was the officiant. His stories and jokes made the ceremony so fun and personal!

They also wrote their own vows and both had beautiful words to share. (It makes sense why they’re teachers). They got everyone tearing up a little bit.

Immediately after the ceremony, the newlyweds took a lap around the venue, just the two of them. Again, to “enjoy the moment!” I loved this simple addition to the typical wedding-day schedule!

Then it was time for dinner where the guests enjoyed some barbecue, grilled right there on-site!

One of my favorite parts of the day was getting to sneak off with Chloe and Weston again to capture some glowy sunset portraits!

The sun peaking through the trees made the leaves glitter in the most magical way.

The best.

When it was time to cut the cake, I learned that it was made by one of Chloe’s bridesmaids, Jane. And let me tell you, it was as delicious as it looked!

It was so sweet to listen to different speeches from their loved ones and hear the impact that Weston and Chloe have made in their lives.

And finally, these dancing pictures have me SWOONING! After Chloe and her dad spent some time swaying, just the two of them, they decided to invite Chloe’s mom and brothers to join them.

After the family dance, Weston and his mom took the floor to “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts, and, let’s face it, how could you not be a little misty-eyed at this point?

I am always so grateful when couples invite me to be such a big part of their day. I felt especially privileged to play a part in this Chris Park wedding for Chloe and Weston! It was such a laid-back, genuine, and heartfelt day that we all left feeling like family!

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Brady!
