I love a good backyard wedding! It’s a place where you have made many memories throughout the years. So why not add one of the biggest events of your life to that list of memories? I was honored to be able to capture some of those moments for Devon and Christian in this beautiful backyard wedding in Bayfield, Colorado.
Let’s start with the details, shall we?
From the shoes to the flowers to the cake, it was obvious that Devon and Christian had put a lot of thought and intention into their details and decor. It was all stunning! But I think you’ll also be able to see why they opted for a backyard wedding as the location itself was pretty incredible too.
One of the most notable moments of the day was when Devon’s mom, Dana, first laid eyes on her. Devon’s beauty quite literally took her mom’s breath away. It was such a special interaction to be able to witness and capture.
I was thankful to get to be in the room while Devon and her gals were preparing for the day. There were many tears and laughter to be had all around!
Throughout the day, Devon continued to take everyone’s breath away.
The weather forecast for Bayfield on this day was rain, rain, and more rain. I believe everyone at the ceremony was thankful that the sunshine decided to show up just in time!
I was able to sneak off with Devon and Christian right after the ceremony and catch their first few moments together as Mr. and Mrs. Rockwell. Her dad’s old pickup truck was the perfect addition to make these photos so unique to them.
Clouds started rolling in after the ceremony which made for some really good natural lighting during these bride and groom portraits. I mean look at these two!
There was, however, some mud from the rain earlier in the day. Christian had a quick solution for that problem as he brought around the side-by-side for his new bride!
And finally, I think we need a whole section for the bridal party! A couple of months before this delightful backyard wedding took place, Devon was telling me about their wedding party. I believe her words were something along the lines of, “We’re a pretty fun group.” And, let me tell you, they lived up to that description!
This bridal party was the best of friends, so it wasn’t too hard to capture these fun moments with all of them!
I also need to shout out the most adorable flower girls around, including their daughter, Arabella!
This backyard wedding in Bayfield was such a special day! I loved being able to see how much everyone cherished Devon and Christian. All of their guests were also ready to party and celebrate with them as they entered this new stage of life! Thank you both for letting me be a part of this incredible wedding!
