April 6, 2023
You may recognize this Fort Lewis senior from some other photos on my website. Brooke was one of the first seniors I got to photograph for this 2023 Spring Graduation, but I have taken photos of her before.
In 2021, I had a styled shoot scheduled with some other vendors in Durango. (You can check out that blog post here). Long story short, we ended up being in desperate need of a model, and Brooke volunteered to fill that role. I think it’s pretty obvious from both sets of photos that she is a natural in front of the camera.
I love the story of that styled shoot for two reasons. 1: I discovered that one of my friends is basically a real-life model that day. And 2: It demonstrates who Brooke is as a person: selfless, friendly, and thoughtful.
Brooke and I originally met through college ministry. It has been a joy to watch her impact others’ lives through her servant leadership over the years. I feel like now is the time to mention that Brooke is also super athletic! She was on the basketball team here at Fort Lewis and I have personally witnessed her sink one from half-court! She’s so cool.
I was excited to shoot this Fort Lewis senior photo session around different spots in Durango! Even though it was the beginning of April, there was still some snow on the ground. Thanks to the sun, some budding trees, and the green grass poking through, we were still able to capture all of the Spring vibes!
Now that Brooke has officially graduated from Fort Lewis senior to alumni, she plans to continue her education by attending school for Occupational Therapy. We are truly going to miss having her around, but we’re super excited about what God has in store for her next. Congratulations Brooke!
