Let’s be real, every wedding day is full of excitement, pure joy, and happy tears. There is also so many moments of anticipation and butterflies that make you feel like you have a rock in your stomach.
Here are my 5 absolutely FAVORITE moments in a wedding day, and here is why the HAVE to be captured.
- The Getting Ready Shot
Not your typical heart warming moment that you might be thinking of… but they are some of the best parts of a wedding day. When I got married, I loved the pictures of the ceremony, and the pictures with my husband, but the getting ready pictures were so special to me because I got to see the other side of the wedding day! I obviously didn’t know what the boys were doing, nor did I have a clue what went on behind the scenes prior to the ceremony.
The getting ready pictures might seem pointless to some, but I promise you that they are images that you will cherish…even if they aren’t blown up on your wall!
2. The First Look
While this may be number two on this list… it is DEFINITELY the number one shot that I capture on any wedding day. As you are thinking and dreaming about your wedding day, I am sure you are thinking about all of the small details like the flowers, the music, the place settings, and the favors you are handing out. But, I KNOW that the moment you are waiting for, is the moment he sees you in that dress. Hands down, the best moment ever. I am not sure what it is that makes that moment so magical…. but for some reason that’s the only way I can describe it.
Brides: If there is one piece of advise I have for you, it is to have a first look! This moment is priceless.
3. The First Kiss
After the first look, obviously we have the first kiss. The first moment you are called Mr. and Mrs., the first time you are husband and wife, the moment you have both been waiting for… YOU’RE Married!!!! Cue the cannons, the cheering, and the inevitable dancing that comes after the words “You may kiss the bride”.
4. The Parents and Family members
Priceless. Pictures of our parents, grandparents, and family members are absolutely priceless. These are the moments we cherish forever, these are the moments that make your big day so sweet. Capturing the happy tears from family/friends is part of capturing the LOVE on a wedding day!
5. The Joy and the Laughter
I know this sounds cliché, but the pictures of everyone dancing, laughing and having a wonderful time at your wedding day are things that make me smile ear to ear. Looking back at all of the people that gathered to celebrate YOU will initiate two responses. Joy and gratefulness. Joy because you will remember how happy everyone way on that day, and gratefulness because you will be reminded of things and the people that your are grateful for…. and THAT is priceless.
